My inspiration is the effect of light on color. My challenge is to create the glow and subtle-to-extreme color shifts created by the sun on, behind or through my subject. I am also influenced by the placement of light and shadows in creating a composition. My attention is on what most intrigues me about the subject. It may be a recognizable object or setting, or it may be so close-up that it seems abstract. I paint what I see. The joy is in the seeing, and I try to capture that in my paintings.
Capturing Epic Moments in Beautiful Ways. This weekend was the first Montrose EnduroCross race of the year. I got to go and take photos again. It was a terrible, rainy, muddy, sloppy, gross mess.
